On December the 14th we had a wonderful evening with fantastic food provided by Chef Mikael of Food Perfected and a beautiful traditional Lucia parade from members and friends of SWEA. There was an array of exquisitely prepared traditional Swedish food, which were complemented by all, for the second year in a row. With its fantastic food, swift and elegant service we can highly recommend Food Perfected.

Chef Mikael catered a Swedish dinner in our home for 30 people this week. All of the food was beautifully prepared and delicious. We enjoyed planning with Chef Mikael as he provided details of his planned menu and also informed us when he had to make a change because of an unavailable ingredient. He was extremely conscientious in all aspects of preparation and service. His food was very well seasoned and cooked, and was beautifully displayed. The gravelax and herring were well flavored, the potatoes perfectly cooked and seasoned, the meatballs delicious, the sausages of excellent quality, and the braised cabbage and Jansson's Temptation the best I have ever had. The evening went very smoothly thanks to the experience of Chef Mikael and his charming assistant Camilla. Afterward they left our kitchen clean and in good order. We hope to work with Chef Mikael and Food Perfected the next time we hold an event!

My class put on a Norse Play followed by a "Viking Feast". Chef Mikael provided the meal that had clever names like, "Odin's Eggs" and "Viking Ribs". He provided some of the most amazing Gravlax you could imagine. The parents were very satisfied. The children scarfed down the meatballs and the sausages. It was fantastic! Highly recommend. Some of the things were so tasty that the kids inhaled them before the adults even had a chance...And we all KNOW how picky kids are.

We had a big birthday celebration this year catered at our home for 70 people. We decided to have both beef tenderloin, and halibut as the main entrees so we could give the guests a choice. We were not sure about the beef / fish split, but Chef Mikael was able to get the right numbers of each of the items including several side dishes that we choose ahead of time.
The food has a gourmet flavor about it, a sauce, or special garnish, and side. Food Perfected makes it seem easy achieve the higher end. You would think you would have to pay through the nose for quality like we received, but really, the price was very reasonable. We had our own liquor, but we did use Mikael's bartender to mix the drinks.
The service staff that Chef Mikael provided were all very swift and professional, and they left things tidy and organized. You could tell that they knew what they were doing the moment they walked in. We'll be using Food Perfected again for sure.

"I've never been to an event they've catered but I've been to their Cotner location for lunch (right across from the Wine House). The sandwiches are fantastic and inexpensive. Mikael (I think that's how he spells his name) always slips in a little something extra like a slice of prosciutto in the chicken salad sandwich or crumbled bacon atop the potato salad or capers here and there. I know it's unusual in most places but it's like he really cares about what he puts in front of you. The other folks there are quick to offer suggestions if you can't make up your mind (like me). The location used to be a bakery and they still make bread. I always get a loaf to go (hmmmm Swedish Limpa!). If you start going now, you might be able to claim it's your own little "find" like I have ;)."

Food Perfected Catering handles a monthly meeting we have in our office near Downtown LA for just over 50 people. Since our office needs are not an extravagant presentation at a fancy event, this review is mainly in regards to the food which is terrific. Everyone at our meetings has been impressed, I can highly recommend using them for the exceptionally courteous, and helpful service staff as well as the food that they prepare!

L.A. is a burger town. I’m a burger lover. I’ve spent a significant amount of time seeking out the best I could find in our sprawling metropolis. Thought I’d found it until I had the good fortune of being invited to one of Chef Mikael’s “burger nights”.
Black truffles and foie gras… On a perfectly cooked medium rare burger. I can’t go back. It was the holy grail of decadence and I’m not exaggerating. Best damn burger I’ve ever had and the man owns potatoes too. His Fries were the perfect companion.
